Your Data Rights

At toomanyideas (operated by ITQAN Labs, Dubai, UAE), we respect your data rights regardless of where you live. This page explains your rights under various regulations and how to exercise them.

Rights for All Users

Every toomanyideas user can:

Export your data — Download a complete copy of all your data (account info, projects, tasks, notes) in JSON format from the Settings page.
Delete your account — Permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Settings page. Data is soft-deleted first and purged after 30 days.
Update your information — Change your password and account details from within the app.
Withdraw consent — You can delete your account at any time, which stops all data processing.

GDPR (EU/EEA Residents)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Right of access (Art. 15) — You can request a copy of your personal data. Use the Export feature in Settings, or email us.
Right to rectification (Art. 16) — You can correct inaccurate data via the app or by contacting us.
Right to erasure (Art. 17) — You can delete your account from Settings. We will erase all your data within 30 days.
Right to restrict processing (Art. 18) — You can request that we limit how we use your data.
Right to data portability (Art. 20) — You can export your data in a machine-readable format (JSON).
Right to object (Art. 21) — You can object to processing of your data. Contact us and we will address your concern.

Legal basis for processing: We process your data based on (a) contractual necessity — to provide the service you signed up for, and (b) legitimate interest — to maintain security and prevent fraud.

International transfers: Your data may be processed outside the EU/EEA. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

CCPA (California Residents)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you:

Right to know — What personal information we collect, use, and share. See our Privacy Policy.
Right to delete — Request deletion of your personal information. Use the Delete Account feature in Settings.
Right to opt-out — We do not sell your personal information. There is nothing to opt out of.
Right to non-discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

UAE Data Protection

As an entity registered in the UAE, we comply with applicable UAE data protection regulations, including Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and its executive regulations.

How to Exercise Your Rights

Self-service (instant):

Export data → Settings → Export My Data
Delete account → Settings → Delete My Account
